LISBON, Ohio (WKBN) – Columbiana County commissioners approved the 2025 tax budget Wednesday, but according to our print partner the Morning Journal , Commissioner Mike Halleck says some cuts will need to be made.

Hallek says more than $3 million will need to be cut from the general fund budget requests this fall to fit within the projected revenue of just over $23 million. However, the budget requests for next year total more than $26 million.

Three entities are asking for funding from this budget at Wednesday’s meeting — the Veterans Service Commission, Columbiana Soil and Water Conservation District and the Park District.

The tax budget must be turned in to the auditor’s office this month. Actual appropriations won’t be approved until closer to the end of the year
