Baseball’s Mid-summer Classic is back and it’s heading down south this year. The best baseball players in the world will get together next Tuesday, July 16, for the 2024 Major League All-Star Game being held in Texas this year at the Rangers’ Globe Life Park. Baseball fans around the world will watch as the National League All-Stars take on the American League All-Stars, headlined by both Aaron Judge and Juan Soto of the Yankees and Shohei Ohtani of the Dodgers. Rookie flamethrower Paul Skenes of the Pirates will also be a big draw after making his first All-Star team with only 11 career starts.

SS Carlos Correa and INF Willi Castro of the Twins were selected to represent the home team in 2024 - leaving players like Joe Ryan and Griffin Jax, who are both having career years off the roster. Correa makes the team while having the best season of his nearly three years in Minnesota, making his third All-Star team and first as a Twin.

Correa is batting .310 with 13 home runs and 85 hits while playing his usual Gold-Glove defense from short.

Castro was named as an injury replacement for Jose Altuve on Thursday to the delight of many Twins fans, who have grown fond of the super utility player who joined the team in 2023. Castro leads the team with 88 hits as of Thursday, three ahead of Correa, while Correa leads the Twins with a .379 on-base percentage, ahead of Castro in second, with a .354 OBP.
