Set in a charming Andalucian-style building with terra-cotta tiled roof and stucco facade, the newest Loewe boutique brings creative director Jonathan Anderson’s Casa Loewe concept to the sun-kissed shores of the mediterranean at the Marbella Club Hotel. The opening is the feather in the cap of one of Europe’s most storied seaside hotels, which also boasts Chanel and Louis Vuitton boutiques on the property.

This year marks the 70th anniversary of Marbella Club Hotel, which was founded by Prince Alfonso von Hohenlohe, whose property helped transform the humble Spanish fishing village into an international luxury destination. To honor the legacy, Marbella Club owner Jennica Arazi has carefully curated activities throughout the year to showcase the heritage and evolution of the hotel famed for being an institution of style and hideaway for royalty and celebrities.

Loewe, she says, couldn’t have come at a better moment. “With over 170 years of history, Loewe is a true reflection of Spanish heritage as well as a forward-thinking and ever-evolving brand,” said Arazi. “It was only fitting that Loewe finally lands at the Marbella Club to enrich the shopping experience.”

Finca Ana Maria, the new extension of Marbella Club Hotel, is hosting the Loewe Greenhouse pop-up through September.

The boutique has been designed for shopping at a leisurely pace. Reflecting a backdrop of whitewashed buildings and lush gardens teeming with colorful climbing plants, the interior features wooden beam ceilings, terrazzo flooring and handcrafted ceramic tiles in cream, earthy green and bougainvillea that enhance the artisanal atmosphere. The curated furniture includes George Nakashima’s walnut Conoid Cushion chairs and Gerrit Thomas Rietveld’s angular Utrecht chairs. There is also an outdoor seating area shaded by flower-festooned awnings.

In addition to the permanent boutique at the resort’s entrance, Loewe is partnering with Marbella Club Hotel to host a greenhouse pop-up on the property’s newly unveiled Finca Ana María, 12 acres of lush gardens sitting adjacent to the main property. As part of the 70th-year milestone, the hotel acquired land to enrich their natural landscape. “Finca Ana María represents the Marbella Club’s future growth, embodying the true luxury of the hotel — our rich garden ecosystem,” said Arazi.

The “finca” (estate), once owned patrons of the Marbella Club, is available for the first time for guests to experience and explore. Loewe’s Victorian style greenhouse will be there through September, offering an interactive setting to showcase the brand’s botanical rainbow line, with nine iconic fragrance families inspired by nature, as well as plant based home scents which capture the essence of a garden.

Arazi says the Loewe Greenhouse is a seamless collaboration. “The finca is home to 300 varieties of vegetables and herbs, including over 100 varieties of tomatoes, a key element of Loewe’s home fragrances. We share so much in common, and we are here to celebrate the great things that connect us to nature.” Together Loewe and Marbella Club will offer guests interactive experiences in the greenhouse, including flower arranging classes and more.

As the hotel continues to celebrate its 70th-year milestone, the land will serve as an interactive platform for activations based on Marbella Club’s core values: gastronomy, arts and culture and holistic well-being.
