Alien: Romulus Reveals New Behind-the-Scenes Footage

An Alien: Romulus featurette has revealed all-new footage from the upcoming Alien sequel.

In the video, released on 20th Century Fox’s YouTube channel, we see extended shots of the Romulus space station where the bulk of the film takes place. “There’s a lot of secrets, things they don’t know inside that ship, that will cost them dearly,” says director Fede Alvarez.

We also see some glimpses of the nightmarish alien creatures who will prey on the cast, including close-ups of Facehuggers and Aliens. According to Alvarez, his team built every single one for real, without relying on CGI.

The Alien: Romulus timeline was confirmed by director Alvarez in a past interview . Elsewhere in the featurette, lead Caliee Spaeny (Rain) pays homage to the previous films in the legendary sci-fi horror series. “The Alien franchise holds such an iconic space in cinematic history,” she says.

Alien: Romulus releases August 16th in cinemas, and from what we’ve seen, the series is in safe hands.
