    One arrested, drugs found in Elmira Heights warrant search

    ELMIRA HEIGHTS, N.Y. ( WETM ) — One man was arrested on Thursday after a search of a home in Elmira Heights where police said drugs were found inside.

    According to the Elmira Heights Police Department, 28-year-old Dakota Baldwin was arrested Thursday, July 11, on the charge of criminal contempt, a felony.

    Police said that units were sent to 1692 Grand Central Ave. in Elmira Heights to assist NYS Parole in searching for a wanted person.

    During the search, police said they found Baldwin hiding under a bed, and added that they violated an order of protection by being in the same home as another person in the building at the time.

    Police added that a quantity of fentanyl was discovered in the home, and a search warrant of the house was conducted.

    The investigation into the incident is ongoing with more arrests expected. Baldwin was taken to the Chemung County Jail for further processing.
