    Doddridge County man charged with domestic offenses, animal cruelty

    WEST UNION, W.Va. (WBOY) — A Doddridge County man is in jail facing charges of domestic assault, domestic battery, unlawful restraint and cruelty to animals.

    Marty Riffle, 28, is accused in a criminal complaint of dragging a puppy across the yard and kicking the puppy while wearing steel-toed boots when the puppy resisted.

    Riffle ended up dragging the puppy to a tree to tie her up, according to the complaint. The complaint did not mention the condition of the puppy or if any injuries were sustained.

    West Virginia Division of Corrections and Rehabilitation records show that Riffle was also charged with domestic assault, domestic battery and unlawful restraint. He is currently being held in the North Central Regional Jail on $6,000 bail.
