SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — Are you a fan of “The Voice”? Then maybe you will recognize the newest performance booked for the New York State Fair.

Tom Nitti, a former contestant on NBC’s hit talent showcase “The Voice,” will take the stage this summer at The Great New York State Fair’s Chevy Court on August 29 at 1:00 p.m.

Nitti is a man with many backgrounds, yet he has always found his way back to music. Growing up, Nitti was inspired by classic Motown artists such as Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder, and The Temptations. At 18, he taught himself to play guitar shortly before graduating high school and joining the military.

“Not only is Tom Nitti a successful, self-made country star, but he is also someone who actively gives back to communities throughout New York through his commitment to service,” said Fair Director Julie LaFave. “We are very proud to welcome him to Chevy Court,”

Originally stationed in Germany, Nitti served his country and was deployed to Afghanistan where he sustained injuries and was later awarded the Purple Heart for his service.
