EL PASO, Texas ( KTSM ) — A person is dead after a rollover crash involving a tanker truck on Friday, July 12, near the Hudspeth County line, according to the Hudspeth County Sheriff’s Office.

The Sheriff’s Office says the crash happened at Mile Marker 50 along US 62/180 and a male died at the scene.

The tanker truck was carrying diesel at the time of the crash.

US 62/180 has been reduced to two lanes, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

The El Paso Fire Department says it’s assisting the Montana Vista Fire Department with the fuel spill.

The Fire Department says the tanker released 9,000 gallons of fuel.

The Montana Vista Fire Department, the Desert Haven Fire Department, the Texas Department of Public Safety, Hudspeth County and Texas Commission on Environmental Quality all responded to the scene.
