Is Ric Flair’s time in AEW over? A new report points to the professional wrestling icon being available to take his services elsewhere this summer.

Despite being 75 years old, WCW and WWE legend Ric Flair is still quite active for his age. He took part in a retirement match two years ago and followed that up with a multi-month run with AEW to be a part of the storyline that would bring friend and fellow legend Sting’s career to a close.

What made the arrangement between AEW and Flair unique, was that the promotion was not paying the multi-time NWA champion. Instead, “Wooooo! Energy” was footing the bill for Flair’s appearances in AEW as part of a sponsorship deal with the company. However, that deal looks to be over.

“Those who have pointed out no ‘Wooooo! Energy’ graphics on the screen of late, that is a smart observation and unless something changes, it doesn’t look like you’ll be seeing that going forward. There was no explanation given, but unless something changes, it does look like that deal is over with,” F4W Online’s Dave Meltzer reported this week.

If that sponsorship is over, one would assume Flair’s run in AEW is as well. Since he was primarily brought in to be a part of the Sting retirement storyline. The wrestling icon is unlikely to walk quietly out of the spotlight now. So is a return to WWE or TNA possible?

WWE head of creative Paul “ Triple H ” Levesque has a long friendship with Flair and bringing him back on a legend’s deal and being used in unique situations seems like a no-brainer. However, TNA has been embracing its past in many ways lately, and bringing Flair back for a special role seems like a strong possibility as well.
