ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — In a recent letter Lieutenant Governor Antonio Delgado added to calls for President Biden to step out of the 20204 presidential race after a poor debate performance. This broke with the support the Democratic Party in New York has largely given to the President.

This week on Empire State Weekly, Henry Rosoff a reporter with WPIX11 in New York City, offered insight into the Lieutenant Governor’s decision. He explained that it is “very hard to see the direct incentive” for why Antonio Delgado would add to the call for Biden to step back from the presidential election.

Also this week, Wendy Martinez Farmer, spoke on the upcoming two-year anniversary of the national suicide and emergency hotline 988. Farmer is the Vice President of 988 Strategy, Grants and Clinical Standards at Vibrant Emotional Health. She explained that those dealing with difficult mental health situations face difficulty in reaching out, which is when 988 can help with trained support.

Also, Tal Frieden a Campaign Manager for Raise Up NY, gave broad support for a proposal in Tompkins County that would raise the minimum wage in the county above the state minimum wage.
