Good afternoon everyone. Tropical energy meandering along the East Coast and I95 corridor in the Mid Atlantic region, continues to cause major travel headaches as flash flooding continues in many spots.

Heavy tropical showers and thunderstorms have lined up from interior parts of South Carolina, interior and coastal sections of North Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, and Delaware, delivering copious amounts of rain in a very short amount of time.

At this time, flash flooding is our priority concern with our tropical moisture, but we also need to keep a watch for isolated severe weather. At the time of this article, a marine warning is in effect for the VA, NC, DE state line in vicinity of the entrance to the Chesapeake Bay. These storms have a past history of localized strong winds, rough sea conditions, and waterspouts.

Please stay tuned to your local agencies for the latest watches and warnings. Do not attempt to cross deep and/or moving water with your vehicles or on foot. It is also advised that beaches and boating are avoided due to localized and rapidly deteriorating weather.
