    Burke County Sheriff’s Office confirms four officers have resigned

    BURKE COUNTY, Ga. (WJBF) – Four officers from the Burke County Sheriff’s Office have resigned.

    The Burke County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed that Captain James Swint, Sergeant Cameron Hampton, Lieutenant Kenneth McKenzie, and Deputy Kristopher McKenzie sent in official letters of resignation to Sheriff Alfonzo Williams on Friday, July 12th.

    Each letter states that each person is “formally submitting [his] resignation from [his] position with the Burke County Sheriff’s Office, effective July 12th, with a two-week notice period as required by sheriff’s office policy” and that each person has “made this decision after careful consideration and personal reflection [and] has decided to pursue new opportunities and challenges in [his] career path.”
