Ozzy Osbourne Isn’t Snorting Powder, But He’s Advocating Drinking It

"Take it from me, don't snort that stuff," Ozzy Osbourne barks from the backseat of a dark-tinted windowed SUV to two teens ripping open a package of powder. "Whatever you do, don't try freebasing it!"

The teens, seen against a graffiti backdrop on what appears to be an L.A. street, look at him puzzled as the aging rocker continues, "and never, ever inject it," before adding,  "And don't even think about boofing it you little perverts."

At first glance, the advertisement is reminiscent of a "Say No To Drugs" Nancy Reagan-era Public Service Announcement. Who could forget the ’ 80s classic: "This is your brain on drugs... Any questions?”

But the famously sober former frontman of Black Sabbath isn't hawking lectures, he's partnered with the wildly popular Liquid Death water company for its new electrolyte mix Death Dust .

“I love how Liquid Death makes a healthy thing like hydration more fun,” said Osbourne in a statement. “Sharon, the family, and I drink Liquid Death all the time, it’s delicious. But seriously, don’t snort or inject anything they make. It’s much better for drinking."

His remarks come after the Food and Drug Administration issued a warning about the dangers of snorting powdered caffeine from products — among them a supplement called "Want a Bump" found on Amazon.

"Pure and highly concentrated caffeine products present a significant public health threat and have contributed to at least two deaths in the United States," the FDA said in a statement issued last March.

The FDA noted that a single teaspoon of pure powdered caffeine "can contain the same amount of caffeine as 28 cups of coffee," which often results in toxic amounts that could lead to serious health issues or death.
