WHEELING, W.Va. (WTRF) — The FEMA Individual Assistance Program officially opened its Disaster Recovery Center on Friday for those still dealing with property damage and personal issues from the April floods.
The center is at 25 Armory Drive in Wheeling, West Virginia, and will be open this week Monday through Saturday from 8 am to 6 pm. If your home or personal property was damaged during the April floods, you may be eligible for assistance.
The Small Business Association is also in the center for anyone who is a renter or owns other property and can assist you with business disaster recovery.
”Some people can be confused by the FEMA registration process, what it involves, what types of help may or may not be possible, and so coming in here really gets people pointed in the right direction.”
Nate Custer – FEMA Spokesperson
”It’s not only for a small business it’s for the residents and renters. So, any person that haves a situation in the past disaster, come to the center and receive the information and apply to.”
Glenda Rodriguez – Public Affairs, Small Business Association
”The experience was great. They were very, very helpful. I’d like to tell anybody out there that has any problems, they should come.”
Ronald Wood – Marshall County Flood Victim
The registration deadline for the April 2nd through 6th flood is July 22nd and for the April 11th flood it is September 3rd.
If you are unable to visit the center, you can call their office at 1-800-621-3362 or to register online click HERE .
