    Disaster unemployment assistance extended in Calhoun County

    AUSTIN, Texas - The Texas Workforce Commission received federal approval to extend the deadline for disaster unemployment assistance applications relating to the severe weather events that impacted Texas counties between April and June.

    Calhoun County individuals who may be eligible now have an additional 30 days—until August 15—to apply for assistance under FEMA.

    Individuals can apply for benefits online through unemployment benefit services or by calling TWC at 800- 939-6631 between 7 A.M. and 6 P.M., Monday through Friday.
