    The heat intensifies again on Sunday

    RICHMOND, Va. -- Skies will be partly cloudy overnight and it will be warm and muggy with some patchy fog developing. Lows will be in the upper 60s and low 70s.

    The heat will intensify Sunday, with highs in the mid 90s and a heat index near or a little above 100. A few isolated thunderstorms are possible during the afternoon and early evening.

    Monday and Tuesday will be very hot and humid, with afternoon highs will be near 100 with a heat index between 105 and 110. There is the possibility of an isolated storm or two each afternoon, with a slightly higher threat north of Richmond Monday evening.

    More heat and humidity is on tap for Wednesday, with scattered storms developing during the afternoon.

    Showers and storms will be more widespread on Thursday into Friday. Highs will be in the mid to upper 80s. It will likely stay unsettled through next weekend with scattered storms possible each afternoon. Highs will be in the 80s.
