    Sheryl Lee Ralph’s Son Weds In Stunning Jamaica Ceremony (Photos)

    Sheryl Lee Ralph’s son, Etienne Maurice, proceeded with his wedding to Stephanie Wash on the island despite Hurricane Beryl’s impact on Jamaica.

    The wedding, which took place against Jamaica’s breathtaking landscape, was said to be full of love and laughter.

    According to People Magazine, who received exclusive details, Ralph expressed her joy at her son finding such a “smart and beautiful partner.”

    A few days before the wedding, Sheryl Lee Ralph asked fans to “pray for us” ahead of Hurricane Beryl’s landfall in Jamaica.

    The deadly Hurricane Beryl tore through the southeast Caribbean, including Jamaica. BBC News reported that at least seven people were killed in the path of the hurricane over Grenada, Venezuela, and St Vincent and the Grenadines.

    Fortunately, Hurricane Beryl passed through the destination island without any severe damage. And so Sheryl Lee Ralph’s son got his dream wedding!

    The Abbott Elementary star’s son, Etienne Maurice, married ABC News journalist Stephanie Wash on Saturday, July 6. The couple got engaged in the summer of 2023 and finally exchanged their “I dos” in front of family and friends in Jamaica last weekend.

    Sheryl Lee Ralph expressed her heartfelt joy and blessing at seeing her son marry an excellent partner who has enriched his life. She describes the moment as filled with love and positivity, endowing their union with great hope and potential and hinting at the prospect of future grandchildren.

    “I am so blessed and happy to see my son find and marry such a smart and beautiful partner who has added so much to his life. It fills my heart with an overwhelming joy and happiness,” Ralph disclosed exclusively to PEOPLE.

    “It is as if all the love and good vibes in the world has come together in this spectacular moment, blessing their union with boundless hope and endless possibilities. And grandchildren, too!”

    The bride’s aunt, The Young and the Restless actress Victoria Rowell, Coming to America star Vanessa Bell Calloway, P-Valley breakout Brandee Evans, Lynn Whitfield, and Vanessa Estelle Williams were among those who attended the wedding at the Good Hope Estate, which was designed by Shikima Hinds to match the bride’s dream of “a tropical, bohemian vibe” with fabrics supplied by Krafted by Design.

    The wedding guest list included chef Alexander Smalls, ABC News national correspondent Steve Osunsami, casting director Robi Reed, and Emmy-winning director Nneka Onuorah.

    The groom’s wedding party wore custom karibas designed by Naid’s Studios. The suits were inspired by Maurice’s grandmother, Ivy Ralph, who invented the kariba in the 1970s. Meanwhile, the groom wore Waraire Boswell’s double-breasted, off-white linen tuxedo.

    The bride wore a shimmering Martina Liana Luxe gown and a pearl-lined veil made by Perry Meek, with tailoring by Kelvin Small. Her gorgeous hair was styled by Natalia Golding of Simply Beautiful Jamaica, and her makeup was by Sue-Ann Gregg. Her father, Ricky Wash, led her down the aisle to the Jesse Powell song “You.”

    Maurice is an entertainment professional who is a filmmaker, actor, and philanthropist. According to the website, he founded WalkGood LA, a “Black & Brown-led” community wellness organization.

    The new bride, Stephanie Wash, is an Emmy-winning television producer who has worked on 20/20 and Soul of a Nation.
