Liam Neeson has had an illustrious career with a diverse range of roles . From starring as Irish revolutionary leader Michael Collins to Oskar Schindler, the German industrialist credited with saving 1,200 European Jews during the Holocaust, the Irishman has shown incredible range.

While Michael Collins and Schindlers List are two of Neeson's best-known movies, the native of Co Antrim has starred in several more successful movies, including, of course, the Taken series. Every person will have their individual preference, but according to IMDb and Rotten Tomatoes, the internet's foremost movie rating websites, Michael Collins and Schindlers List are Neeson's two highest-rated movies.

Directed by Steven Spielberg, the historical drama about Schindler's efforts to save Jews during the Holocaust is widely regarded as one of the greatest films ever made and suitably received a rating of 98 percent from Rotten Tomatoes and 9.0 from IMDb.

Michael Collins, meanwhile, which was directed by Neil Jordan and released in 1996, was a movie where Neeson stars as the titular character in this biographical drama about the Irish revolutionary leader. Rotten Tomatoes gave it a score of 77 percent, while IMDb rated it as 7.1.

Next up is Kinsey, a 2004 biographical drama in which Neeson portrays Alfred Kinsey, a pioneering sexologist. Rotten Tomatoes gave it a healthy 90 percent, while IMDb rated it at 7.1.

2005's Batman Begins saw Neeson play Ra's al Ghul in Christopher Nolan's reboot of the Batman franchise. Rotten Tomatoes awarded it an 84 percent rating while IMDb gave it a score of 8.2.

Love Actually , a Christmas favorite released in 2003, is an ensemble romantic comedy that features Neeson in one of the intertwining stories. Despite its popularity, Rotten Tomatoes score isn't as generous, at 64 percent. Meanwhile, IMDb scored it at 7.6.

In The Grey, which was released in 2011, Neeson stars in this survival thriller about a group of men stranded in the Alaskan wilderness. Rotten Tomatoes scores the movie at 79 percent, while IMDb rated it at 6.8.

Released in 2016 , A Monster Calls is a dark fantasy drama, Neeson voices the Monster. It received a healthy Rotten Tomatoes score of 86 percent. IMDb was similarly generous, rating it at 7.5.

In Darkman, which hit theaters in 1990, Neeson plays the titular character in the superhero movie directed by Sam Raimi. Rotten Tomatoes gave the movie a score of 84 percent, while IMDb ranked it at 6.4.

Despite being one of the movies he's most associated with, Taken is on the lower end of the scale of Neeson's highest-rated movies. This action thriller became a cultural phenomenon - thanks in part to Neeson's iconic monologue - and revitalized Neeson's career as an action star. Despite this, Rotten Tomatoes only gave the 2008 movies 59 percent. IMDb, meanwhile, were more generous with their score of 7.8.

In The Mission, which debuted in 1986, Neeson plays a supporting role alongside Robert De Niro and Jeremy Irons in the historical drama. Rotten Tomatoes scores the movie at 66 percent, while IMDb's rating is 7.4.
