NOVAK DJOKOVIC wants England fans to put their feet up at home and watch a Blockbuster Wimbledon final before Gareth Southgate brings football home.

The 24-time Grand Slam champion is fully aware of the part he will play in tomorrow's Sporting Super Sunday.

Carlos Alcaraz, 21, is dreaming of a Spanish double – first in London on the tennis court and then in Berlin as Spain battle England in the Euro 2024 final.

Yet hours before the football starts, Djokovic, 37, could ruin his afternoon by gaining revenge for last year’s thrilling Wimbledon final defeat.

Told that this could be the best day of sport for England punters in 58 years, Djokovic laughed: “You’re hoping he (Southgate) brings it home!”

Then he added: “Well, I think that the English crowd will have the best of both worlds.

“Because the final is at night. We’re starting at 2pm – so they’ll have plenty of time to enjoy the tennis and football.

“It adds more, I guess, to the importance of the match.

“I think the Wimbledon final is probably the most watched tennis match in the entire year in the world.

“I’m not sure if I’m going to break Carlos’ heart. I’m not intending to do that.

“He’s so young but still has three Grand Slams under his belt and is going for his fourth.

“I see a lot of similarities between me and him in terms of ability to adapt and adjust to the surface. That’s probably his biggest trait.

“He’s a very all-around player, a very complete player. It’s impressive what he has done for such a young age.

“Probably all of us share the same opinion, that he’s going to win many slams in his career.

“I hope he’s going to give me this one and let’s see. After that I’ll cheer for him.”
