This member of the royal family claimed to be the first person to meet Prince Harry and Meghan's son

An article in the UK's The Daily Express reports that one senior member of the royal family was the first to meet Prince Archie, son of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle soon after he was born.

According to The Times, the first senior royal to visit the baby was Duchess Sophie, wife of Prince Edward.

While Sophie is not known to be close to Harry and Meghan, she did play an early role in acting as a mentor for Meghan.

Sophie was reportedly used to welcome Meghan into the royal family and help her learn the ropes of royal life. It was thought she would be ideal because of her middle-class background before she married Prince Edward.

Sophie was also a working professional before her marriage and shared that she had some things in common with Meghan.
