    Funeral services honor fallen Missouri Asst. Fire Chief Matthew Tobben

    UNION, Mo. – Matthew Tobben, an assistant fire chief for the Boone County Fire Protection District who died in the line of duty in mid-Missouri, was honored with funeral services and procession on Saturday.

    Tobben, an assistant chief for the Boone County Fire Protection District, died Monday during a swift water rescue operation when he and three others were thrown from a boat. The other three occupants were rescued.

    Funeral services, included full fire service honors, began 11 a.m. Saturday at at East Central College in Union. It followed a procession with fire service members from the Oltmann Funeral Home to the college.
