Good afternoon everyone. We're finally starting to see a slow clearing process along the East Coast as a stationary front with tropical enery riding along it, finally meanders offshore. Slow is an understatement, with it taking over 72hrs to get this thing out.

Heavy showers and thunderstorms remain over parts of coastal South Carolina, extreme eastern North Carolina, coastal Virginia, the Forks of Long Island, and southeast New England. As the day goes on, we will see all of this finally drift offshore, replaced with a fog & sunshine mix, then sunny skies and oppressive heat tomorrow. Flooding potential has subsided as heavy thundershowers have become more of the scattered variety.

In other news, severe weather returns to the Upper Midwest with a new piece of energy coming out of Canada. This time, the action will be more widespread than what we saw very early this morning and leftover energy this afternoon. Look for scattered storms to develop in parts of North Dakota and Minnesota, then organizing into a formidable line or several multi-directional lines.

    TORNADO RISK OUTLOOK

These storms will easily reach severe limits, with damaging winds in excess of 70mph possible, very large hail, frequent lightning, torrential rain, and the possibility for some tornadoes. Storms will race through Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Iowa, possibly surving the trip to Illinois and Michigan. We'll be watching closely for Chicago as severe weather will get close before possibly fizzling out.

Stay tuned for the latest, and please listen to your local agencies for the latest watches and warnings. Be prepared to take action in order to save property and life.
