Oregon-based Taylor's Sausage has issued a recall for approximately 74 pounds of its ready-to-eat Landjaeger sausage products.

Undeclared allergens and misbranding drew concerns from the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service, which announced the recall in a Saturday news release. The product in question contains soy, a common allergen, which was not listed on the product label.

The recall affects 14.4 oz. vacuum-packed packages of "TAYLOR'S Sausage Hot LANDJAEGER," with lot code "23342-2" and a use-by date of Dec. 8, 2025, as indicated on the back of the packaging. The product, produced on Dec. 8, 2023, and packaged on Dec. 19, was distributed to retail locations in Oregon and California.

The issue was identified during routine FSIS in-plant verification activities when personnel noticed that soy was being used as an ingredient but was not declared on the finished product label, according to the USDA news release.

As of Saturday, there were no confirmed reports of adverse reactions related to the consumption of these products. Nevertheless, consumers concerned about potential illness were advised to contact a healthcare provider.

The FSIS urged consumers who purchased the affected sausages to either dispose of them or return them to wherever they were purchased.

Per its standard protocol, FSIS planned to conduct recall effectiveness checks to ensure that Taylor's Sausage, Inc., informed its customers of the recall and that the product was removed from stores.
