    York County Coroner IDs young man killed in motorcycle crash in Penn Township

    The York County Coroner's office confirmed a man died in a motorcycle crash in Penn Township Saturday, July 13, according to a news release.

    Riley Emig, 19, of the 300 block of Protectory Road in Paradise Township died of multiple blunt force trauma. The manner is accidental, the release states.

    Crews were called to the scene of a motorcycle-involved crash on Broadway at Beaver Creek Road in Penn Township around 4:47 p.m. on Saturday, July 13, 2024, according to York County 911 records.

    A medical helicopter, from STAT MedEvac based in Thomasville, was seen landing in a field next to the crash scene. The crew from the flight helicopter was seen departing the scene in a ground ambulance, heading towards UPMC Hanover Hospital.

    The coroner's office said it was called to the hospital and confirmed the death of an adult male.

    The news release said the rider, who is unidentified pending further notification of family, was traveling at a high rate of speed when he hit an F150 pickup truck. The truck was turning off of Beaver Creek Road onto Broadway in Penn Township. The rider was wearing a helmet, according to the coroner.

    Traffic was detoured off of Broadway near the Adams County line for a crash reconstruction.

    Penn Township Police Department was seen on the scene investigating the crash.

    The coroner said there will be no autopsy.
