In the series, Petty will play Dr. Lenora Friedman, “a seasoned pathologist at the San Diego Medical Examiner’s Office. As comfortable around the dead she is the living, her passion for the job is infectious.” And Moynihan joins as Woodrow “Woody” Browne, “the wildly overworked senior chemist and director of the NIS Forensic Lab, who compensates for his lack of sleep with an offbeat sense of humor.”

The series revolves around young Leroy Jethro Gibbs (Stowell, playing the role made famous by Harmon) in 1991, years prior to the events of NCIS. “In the series, Gibbs starts his career as a newly minted special agent at the fledgling NCIS Camp Pendleton office, where he forges his place on a gritty, ragtag team led by NCIS legend Mike Franks (Schmid).”
