Titanic , the ultimate disaster movie, has been amusingly scheduled by Channel 4 against England's Euro 2024 final match against Spain tonight. We're hoping this isn't a bad omen and doesn't sink England's big for glory!

Yes, while BBC One and ITV1 will be screening the big match, the Channel 4 schedulers have taken the funny decision to screen the 1997 blockbuster.

James Cameron's Oscar winner, starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet, is arguably the greatest disaster movie of all time. The film, including ad breaks, is running for nearly four hours on Channel 4, giving non-sport lovers something to enjoy other than England's attempt to win their first major trophy since 1966.

With 21.6 million viewers tuning into ITV1 to watch England's semi-final win over the Netherlands, it's unlikely Channel 4 will be getting much of an audience for Titanic . It's likely an even bigger audience than the one for the semi-final will watch the final across the BBC and ITV, surely making tonight's match the most-watched show of 2024 whatever the result.

But obviously, not everyone is into football and there are some other viewing options on the main channels. BBC Two is screening Wimbledon, with coverage switching over from BBC One at 6.20 pm. On the final day of the tournament, the men's singles final will take centre-stage, before proceedings on Centre Court concludes with the mixed doubles final.

Then at 9 pm, BBC Two is showing episode three of The Turkish Detective , which sees the murder of a rap music manager leading Ikmen and the team to investigate intrigue and scandal in one of Istanbul's richest families.

Meanwhile, Channel 5 has taken the curious decision to show a documentary about The Great Storm of 1987 at 7.25 pm. Then at 9 pm they're screening the comedy film Keeping Mum , starring Rowan Atkinson, Kristin Scott Thomas, Maggie Smith and Patrick Swayze. The 2005 movie follows a well-meaning but dull vicar who is kept on his toes by his dysfunctional family.

Titanic is on Channel 4 from 6.15 pm to 10.00 pm. BBC One is screening the Euro 2024 final from 6.30 pm to 10.40 pm. ITV1's coverage runs from 6.30 pm to 10.00 pm (see our TV guide for full listings). Check out our best shows on Netflix guide for more series to enjoy.
