The two were locked in a tit for tat battle in the first to ten match.

And with the legs tied at 3-3, Van den Bergh found a moment of inspiration.

He produced a perfect leg to make it 4-3.

The perfect leg then left the crowd at the Winter Gardens in Blackpool enraptured.

The Sky Sports audio equipment even struggled with the noise of the cheers with it noticeably crackling on the feed.

Lead commentator Dan Dawson said: “That is magic from the dream maker! Special things happen to this man at this tournament and he has just produced a special leg of darts!

Co-commentator and former Premier League champion Glen Durrant said: “What a moment. He’s trying to keep everything together right now but that was unbelievable.

    “It was absolutely perfect.”
