In the wake of Shannen Doherty 's death at 53 , fans have flocked to social media to react to the news. Many have also sought out the Beverly Hills, 90210 actress' last social media post—which she uploaded mere weeks before her passing on July 13 following a long battle with breast cancer.

Doherty's final Instagram post was on June 25 when she shared a clip from her Let's Be Clear With Shannen Doherty podcast . In the video, she discussed the cancer treatment plan.

"I have no idea how long I'm going to be on the chemo for," she admitted. "I have no idea if it's going to be, you know, three months or if it's going to be six months. Or, if we're, you know...if after three months it's not working, if we're going to change again."

In the clip, Doherty explained the plan was "not something that I can predict," nor was it something her doctors could, either.

"And it's scary. It's like a big wake-up call," she admitted. "At the same time, I got to say, there is some positivity there. And the positivity is that because my molecular structure of my cancer cells changed recently, it means there's a lot more protocols for me to try."

Doherty added, "So you know for the first time in a couple months probably I feel hopeful because there are so many more protocols now. Whereas before I was hopeful but I was still getting prepared."

In 2015, the Charmed actress was diagnosed with breast cancer. She underwent chemotherapy, radiation and surgery and went into remission in 2017. Unfortunately, her cancer returned as Stage 4; she announced the recurrence during a 2020 appearance on Good Morning America .

By January 2023, the cancer had metastasized to her brain, which she shared in an emotional update via Instagram that June. Doherty underwent surgery to remove a tumor in her head after learning the cancer had spread.

In the comments of Doherty's last social media post, fans flocked to react to her death. One Instagram user wrote, "You fought the hardest battle and did it for so long, thank you for everything you have given us Shannen, you were our childhood. You can rest now, rest in peace angel 🙏🏼💔."

Another fan commented, "Dylan and Brenda are finally together 💔💔💔💔," referencing her and Luke Perry ' s 90210 characters.

Meanwhile, someone else wrote, "RIP Shannen- gone too soon. Thanks for all the enjoyment you brought to people around the world 🙏❤️🙏."
