New home decor trend alert! Wavy curtains are the latest wave when it comes to dressing up a space in a way that doesn't take up any extra space. While straight curtains continue to reign supreme as classics always do, several people are updating their windows or shower rods with curtains boasting wavy, scalloped edges — just to add a little more texture and visual fun to a space. Now, hopping on every trend that arises on the internet isn't practical for several reasons, namely financial ones. Thankfully, master DIYer Tina Le Mac just treated the world to an affordable and low-effort hack to get the popular wavy curtains in our homes without breaking the bank.
They're available in various price ranges and styles. These gorgeous batik-printed curtains from West Elm boast scalloped edges with blue trim that can add an extra touch of personality to a window without stealing the show from the seating and other furniture placed in a room. They come in two color options, three sizes, and start at $79 for a pair. Pottery Barn sells scalloped, wavy curtains starting at $69.99 . For people who love a little more luxury, Anthropologie sells a pair of bold red and pink curtains starting at $118 .
However, not everyone wants to spend $70 to $100 on trendy curtains. And that's where Tina Le Mac's handy DIY methods come in.
Watch Tina apply a no-sew method to DIYing a set of her own curvy curtains.
"The wavy trend is taking over curtains and I just haaaad to find a way to DIY them," Tina wrote to her followers.
"This no-sew method is super easy and cutting out this scalloped trim with felt made it very affordable 👌🏼. You can make these as an IKEA hack or upgrade any pair of old curtains you have laying around!"
Have another look-see at the final results from this wavy curtain DIY project.
Tina used HeatnBond adhesive to attach the wavy trim to the curtains she already owns. This turned what could have been an up to $118 new purchase at a home goods store into an under $10 DIY project using $2 adhesive, extra fabric, pre-owned curtains, and a pre-owned iron.
That's how you stay on top of new home decor trends you love without spending loads of cash on the changes. Would you try this easy wavy curtain hack?
