The NHL's 4 Nations Face-Off is a tournament that will take place from Feb. 12-20, 2025 in Montreal and Boston and will feature players from Finland, Sweden, Canada, and the United States.
All seven games in the 4 Nations Face-Off will be played with NHL rules. Each team plays three tournament games in Round Robin format: three points for a regulation win, two points for an overtime or shootout win, and one point for an overtime or shootout loss. The two teams with the best record will advance to the Final Championship Game.
New Jersey Devils Executive Vice President, Hockey Operations Martin Brodeur , a Montréal, Quebec, Canada native, shared his starting lineup for Team Canada.
Beginning with the goaltending position, Brodeur selected Adin Hill from the Vegas Golden Knights. The 28-year-old was part of the 2022-23 Stanley Cup team and finished last season with a 2.71 goals-against average and a .909 save percentage.
On the blue line, he picked Colorado Avalanche defenseman Cale Makar and his former St. Louis Blues teammate, Alex Pietrangelo .
"Even though they are both (right-handed shots), I think they are the two best guys," Brodeur said in the social media post.
Unsurprisingly, he chose three of the best offensive players in the league up front: Connor McDavid, Sidney Crosby, and Nathan MacKinnon.
On June 28, the NHL revealed the first six players named to Team Canada's roster, and four of Brodeur's players made the list. MacKinnon, McDavid, Makar, and Crosby joined Tampa Bay Lightning's Brayden Point and Boston Bruins captain Brad Marchand.
The final roster for Canada, Sweden, Finland, and the United States is expected to be announced between Nov. 29 and Dec. 2.
