PRINCESS Charlotte struggled to hide her true feelings as she watched the Wimbledon men’s final today, which saw Carlos Alcaraz beat Novak Djokovic and retain his Grand Slam title.
Charlotte, 9, was joined by her mother, the Princess of Wales and aunt, Pippa Middleton as the trio enjoyed a girls day out at SW19.
While Kate stunned in a purple Safiyaa dress, the young royal was seen sporting a £70 navy blue Guess dress outfit.
Navy is a colour Charlotte has worn numerous times in the past – and she also wore a blue bow in her hair.
Her brunette locks were half tied back in sweet plaits, secured with the bow.
Charlotte teamed the outfit with a pair of plain cream pumps.
During the tense match, which saw Alcaraz beat Djokovic 6-2, 6-2,7-6 (4), Charlotte delighted fans with her hilarious facial expressions.
The Princess clenched her teeth and bit her lip as she avidly watched the game unfold.
Ahead of the match, Charlotte couldn’t stop smiling, when she met Emma Radacanu.
The 21-year-old tennis pro gifted Princess Kate a beautiful bunch of flowers as she chatted away with the royals.
Kate received a standing ovation from the crowd as she made her way to her seat, as Charlotte proudly beamed up at her mother.
She said: “It was a long-held promise that Kate would take Charlotte to the finals as a special treat.
“Kate felt guilty she hadn’t been able to spend as much time as she would have liked to be with the kids because of her exhaustion after her treatment.
“Charlotte has always loved tennis and mum Kate took her to Hurlingham when she was quite young to play tennis there.”
Get to know Princess Charlotte
Born on May 2, 2015, Princess Charlotte has become a much-loved member of the Royal Family.
She continued: “Tennis is a big family thing on both sides.
“So it is a super special day for Kate to be able to share it with Charlotte and much more fun for her to have Charlotte there and explain the details of what is going on.
“It’s also a distraction so she does not feel she is full and centre of everyone’s attention. Charlotte is there to deflect things away from her too. Kate was determined to be at Wimbledon on finals day if she possibly could.”
She said: “This is a positive sign for Kate’s recovery programme.
“But this is only her second appearance in a year and will possibly be her last until after the school holidays are over.”
