WWE has been really hot right now and there have been a ton of great storylines. Especially in the long-term booking, which is something WWE has previously lacked in the last few years under Vince. When Triple H took over the creative has been so much better. The one story that everyone has been praising is the one between Liv Morgan and Dominik Mysterio. However, there is a very big problem with what WWE has been doing with the storyline between Liv Morgan and Dominik.
It is clear that this Liv Morgan and Dominik Mysterio storyline is obviously a revenge story where Liv Morgan is trying to break up the Judgement Day and destroy Rhea Ripley. Especially after Ripley has been a pain in her neck for the past few years attacking her and ruining her chances at success.
However, Liv Morgan in this story is sexually harassing Dominik Mysterio to do it, which is just wrong. The worst part is she is doing this in the workplace. They have Liv touching him, sending him inappropriate photos, offering her hotel key card, and kissing him without consent. They also have her seemingly stalking him on social media too. Does anyone not see how problematic this is, especially in the year 2024?
Also, isn't WWE currently under federal investigation due to allegations involving Vince McMahon and John Laurinaitis? The investigation centers around accusations of sexual harassment and sex trafficking. Vince McMahon has been accused of sexual assault and trafficking by a former employee (and other allegations have been made by other different women too, but settled with him), leading to a federal probe.
This ongoing investigation certainly casts a shadow over WWE, and continuing certain storylines like the one between Liv Morgan and Dominik Mysterio is a big problem. It might not reflect well on the company when the investigation concludes, and the results don't paint the company in a good light. This story is continuing the way it is going to be a problem.
WWE needs to tone it down with this problematic story. It doesn't matter if it is scripted, this type of story should not fly at all with how heinous and distasteful it is. This is not the Attitude Era where they got away with a ton of disgusting storylines. It's ridiculous that people use that excuse. It was wrong then and its still wrong today.
Now Rhea Ripley has returned to WWE television and is likely going to have a long feud with Liv. Hopefully they come to their senses and tone down this storyline with Liv and Dominik because it's super uncomfortable to watch. I am still interested in seeing a match between Liv Morgan and Rhea Ripley as they have had really great matches in the past.
