PIEDMONT TRIAD, N.C. (WGHP) — As we wind down this evening, temperatures look to remain warm, falling to the low 80s by 11 pm. It’s shaping up to be a mostly clear night ahead.

Monday kicks off the work week with a sizzling start. Morning lows will be in the mid-70s, climbing to the upper 90s by the afternoon. Mostly sunny skies mean the UV index will be very high, so don’t forget your sunscreen if you’re heading outside. Speaking of the outdoors, you’ll likely want to limit your time outdoors taking breaks in the shade or inside as temperatures near the triple digits. There is a 20% chance of some pop-up storms thanks to that warm summer air.

When we wake up Tuesday morning temps start in the mid-70s, quickly rising to the mid to upper 90s by afternoon. With the humidity, it’ll feel like the triple digits. Keep hydrated and keep an umbrella handy because there’s a 40% chance of isolated showers and storms.

Wednesday brings some relief as a cold front starts to approach the Carolinas. We’ll wake up very humid and warm with temperatures in the mid-70s. Afternoon temperatures reach the low to mid-90s with scattered rain and thunderstorm chances. A 50% chance for rain continues into the evening and overnight.

Thursday morning lows will be in the mid-70s. Highs will be cooler, only reaching the upper 80s, with scattered thunderstorms persisting throughout the day and overnight. The chance for scattered thunderstorms is 70%.

Friday will have lows in the low 70s and a 60% chance of scattered thunderstorms throughout the day. Highs will be cooler, peaking in the low 80s. Scattered rain and thunderstorm chances remain possible overnight.

Heading into the weekend, Saturday starts mild in the upper 60s. Expect isolated thunderstorms throughout the day with a 50% chance of rain. Highs will reach the low 80s, so it won’t be as hot, but the chance for scattered showers persists into the night.

Sunday rolls in with morning lows in the upper 60s and more isolated thunderstorms in the forecast. Highs will stay in the low 80s, making it another cooler day.
