    Brush fire damages property near Clay County home

    MANCHESTER, Ky. ( FOX 56 ) — A brush fire spread into a property and nearly caught a home on fire in Clay County on Saturday.

    According to the City of Manchester Fire Department (CMFD), crews were dispatched just before 6 p.m. on Saturday to a Clay County home in response to reports of a brush fire endangering property in the area.

    Emergency personnel said that upon arrival, fire crews discovered that three structures on the property were on fire, with the blaze spreading closer to the home.

    The CMFD said fire crews “deployed attack lines” and extinguished the fire, eliminating the threat to the home in the process.

    LATEST KENTUCKY NEWS

    Crews stayed on the scene “extinguishing hotspots” before the home was checked for signs of damage, and the scene was eventually cleared, per emergency personnel.

    According to the authorities, no one was injured.
