Who Will Die in Episode 6 of 'House of the Dragon'?

    By Eliza Thompson,

After the brutal conflagration of Rook’s Rest, the fifth episode of House of the Dragon ’s second season was relatively quiet. No one died, no battles happened, and no immediate plans were made for the next move. Rhaenyra is busy trying to find more potential riders for her excess dragons, while the Greens are under new management as Aegon recovers from his wounds.

Nothing ever stays quiet in Westeros for long, though, and with only three episodes left in the season, the drama is sure to ramp up soon — and the body count will likely rise as well. Based on what we know from George R.R. Martin ’s Fire & Blood , let’s predict who’s in danger of meeting the Stranger in Episode 6:

    Ser Alfred Broome

While Corlys mourns the death of Rhaenys and Daemon wanders around Harrenhal, Ser Alfred is the number one guy in the group. That makes him the perfect person for Rhaenyra to dispatch to Harrenhal to see what’s really going on with her husband. In the book, Alfred survives well past Rook’s Rest, but the fearful look in his eyes hints that he’s not too thrilled about the idea of visiting a notorious maniac at a haunted castle. And while it wouldn’t exactly be wise for Daemon to murder someone on his own team, absolutely no one would put it past him.

    Ser Steffon Darklyn

Episode 5 ended with Rhaenyra and Jacaerys deciding that it’s time to comb through the Targaryen family records for secret family members who might be capable of riding dragons. As Fire & Blood readers know, they do eventually find a handful of riders — but a ton of would-be dragon tamers die in the process. One such person is Ser Steffon, the Lord Commander of Rhaenyra’s Queensguard. He’s had a small role on the show so far, but if he’s gearing up to ride a dragon, then his days might be numbered.
