Donald Trump said he had been set to deliver a “humdinger” of a speech criticizing President Joe Biden at this week’s Republican National Convention.

“Honestly, it’s going to be a whole different speech now,” he told the Washington Examiner on Sunday, one day after he survived an assassination attempt .

The former president told the newspaper he is taking a new angle.

“It is a chance to bring the country together,” he said. “I was given that chance.”

The presumptive Republican presidential nominee claimed he has the opportunity to bring not only the nation, but possibly the entire world, together.

“The speech will be a lot different, a lot different than it would’ve been two days ago,” he noted.

Trump suffered an injury to his ear, possibly from a bullet grazing him, as he spoke at a rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday, and was bleeding as he was taken from the scene by Secret Service.

The gunman, later identified as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks , was shot and killed moments later.

Law enforcement officials have said they don’t yet know his motives.

However, the incident has led to bipartisan calls for more civility in a heated political climate.

“There’s no place in America for this kind of violence, for any violence ever. Period. No exceptions,” Biden said while speaking from the Oval Office Sunday night. “We can’t allow this violence to be normalized.”

“UNITE AMERICA!” Trump wrote on his Truth Social website Sunday afternoon.

Trump is expected to give his speech accepting the Republican presidential nomination at the RNC on Thursday night.
