    Choi Hyun-Wook ’s Black Salt Dragon K-drama is based on a webtoon of the same name. Recently, the announcement of the upcoming series was made. It will star Twinkling Watermelon’s Hyun-Wook and True Beauty’s Moon Ga-Young .

    In the forthcoming love story drama, Hyun-Wook plays Ban Joo-Yeon, a chaebol heir. His first encounter with Baek Su-Jeong (Ga-Young) was 16 years ago. They met as online game characters. However, Joo Yeon soon found his first love in Su-Jeong through the game. Sadly, he ended up heartbroken, as she rejected his proposal all those years ago.

    Many years later, fate brings them together, but this time as a boss and an employee. Will Joo-Yeon get a second chance to win over his first love? The drama will likely premiere in 2025 on tvN.

    Choi Hyun-Wook’s new K-drama Black Salt Dragon: What webtoon is it based on?

    Based on the Black Salt Dragon webtoon, the K-drama will revolve around a similar storyline. On Naver , the description of the webtoon reads (originally in Korean), “The year is 2004. Baek Su-jeong (Sandalgi), a third-year high school student, secretly develops a love affair with a black flame dragon she meets in a game. After the college entrance exam, the long-awaited reunion day arrives! However, the real black flame dragon is a completely different person from what Baek Su-jeong imagined…”

    Moreover, the first episode/chapter of the Black Salt Dragon webtoon was released on September 20, 2019. While the final episode came out on February 1, 2021, two more extra chapters were released on February 8, 2021. Furthermore, the Naver website has rated the webtoon 9.9. Hyejin Yang has written and illustrated it.

    Soon, it will premiere as a K-drama. Directed by Lee Soo-Hyun, it stars Moon Ga-Young, Choi Hyun-Wook, Im Se-Mi, and Kwak Si-Yang. Se-Mi and Si-Yang will be the second couple in the series. It is scheduled to air next year on tvN.
