Jeopardy! fans have joined forces to call for one contestant to be given a second chance after she suffered a "massive momentum killer".
Anna Poane had a huge lead as she went up against champion Isaac Hirsch and Kathy Davis. However, a correction chaos from the judges halfway through the show meant the leaderboard shifted dramatically.
Host Ken Jennings paused the show to tell the three contestants that the judges had decided to reverse multiple answers. "I need to update the scores a bit because our judges have notified me of some changes," he said. "Kathy, when you corrected your response from 'corroborate' to 'corroborated,' that was no longer an 11-letter word. We need to take the second response. So, you will lose $1,600 there.

"Isaac, the good news is we have ruled we can accept 'char-grilled' instead of 'char-broiled,' so, you get back $2,400 there. In that case, Kathy never would have guessed 'flame-broiled,' so she gets back $1,200. And finally, last but not least, there is a thing called a magic triangle. It turns out, and that's a $4,000 swing for you, Isaac.
"So, these scores as you see them are correct." After the corrections, Isaac's earnings went from $8,600 to $15,000, while Kathy's dropped from $600 to $200. Anna stayed put on $9,000 but sadly lost her lead.
Anna then struggled after the ruling and ended up losing to Isaac, who secured his fifth win, taking his total up to $120,186. Fans were furious with the episode and were convinced the huge pause in the game put Anna off.

Taking to Reddit, many viewers called on producers to invite her back for another chance. "Anna is about as deserving of a second chance spot as I can remember. She thought she was playing with a lead and the judges completely flipped the game on her. The rulings were reasonable but I think I would have mentally broken down after that," one person wrote.
Another fumed: "The score change was far too late and far too impactful," while a third suggested: "She probably thought ‘eff this’ after that massive momentum killer and just wanted to hit the early buffet in El Segundo."
Offering a solution, one person said: "Ideally they should have stopped sooner and re-filmed the clue/answer exchanges as they went, as they do sometimes, rather than aggregating them like that." Over on X, formerly known as Twitter, someone else added: "I don’t know who needs to hear this, but tonight’s episode of #Jeopardy left a lot to be desired (S40 Episode 217) was a hot mess & that Anna should be invited back."
