    NJ corporate tax revenue funding millions in Central Jersey parks projects. Here's where

    Counties and towns in Central Jersey will be getting their share of more than $100 million of corporate tax revenue to acquire and improve open space and park projects.

    The bill appropriating the funds to the state Department of Environmental Protection was signed into law by Gov. Phil Murphy on July 10 after it passed both houses of the Legislature on June 28.

    The following grants were awarded in Central Jersey:

    Middlesex County

    • Carteret, $1.4 million for Arthur Kill River Walk North.
    • New Brunswick, $1.4 million for renovations to Alec E. Baker Park.
    • Perth Amboy, $1.4 million for Veterans Memorial Park improvements.
    • Monroe, $469,000 for the Monroe Community Gardens.
    • Sayreville, $325,000 for improvements to Kennedy Park Trial.
    • East Brunswick, $750,000 for an inclusive playground at Lenape Park.
    • Old Bridge, $750,000 for a Geick Park inclusive playground.
    • Monroe, $750,000 for an inclusive playground at Monroe Community Gardens.
    • South River, $554,250 for a Grekoski Park inclusive playground.

    Somerset County

    • Montgomery, $700,000 for open space acquisition and $750,000 for an all-inclusive playground.
    • Rocky Hill, $240,235 for a raised walkway at Van Horne Park.

    Union County

    • Union County, $2.1 million for acquisition of open space and recreation land.
    • Plainfield, $1.4 million for phase two of the Rushmore Avenue recreation complex.
    • Union Township, $1.05 million for Weber Park renovations.
    • Union Township, $57,000 for Joe Collins Park renovations.
    • Union County, $239,900 for the Homestead Farmhouse at Oak Ridge Park.
    • Union County, $915,000 for a playground at Warinanco Park.
    • New Providence, $750,000 for an Oakwood Park playground.
    • Plainfield, $665,200 for Rushmore Park’s inclusive playground.
    • Summit, $750,000 for improvements to Mabie Playground.
    • Union Township, $486,000 for the Irene Hoppe Park renovation.

    Hunterdon County

    • , $300,000 to acquire the land for the Greenway Incentive Plan.
    • Union Township, $650,000 to acquire the land for the Union Twp. Open Space Plan.
    • Hunterdon County, $1 million for the South County Park inclusive playground.
    • Clinton Town, $562,500 for an inclusive playground on Halstead Street.
    • Clinton Township, $750,000 for the Runkle Drive Park inclusive playground.
