Netflix India Reveals Taapsee Pannu’s Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba Release Date

Taapsee Pannu and Vikrant Massey joined hands in 2021 for the thriller mystery Haseen Dillruba. When it arrived on Netflix, the movie had the viewers hooked on its plot with its spine-chilling story. Besides the two stars, it also cast Harshvardhan Rane, Aditya Srivastava, and Shivaji Satam in crucial roles. As it has been a while since the film’s official sequel, Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba, was announced, its makers recently revealed its much-awaited release date.

The first film in the franchise revolved around a young woman named Rani who gets married to Rishu. As they do not have much spark in their marriage, she seeks pleasure in Rishu’s cousin, Neel, only to be betrayed. A murder mystery follows as two members of the love triangle are missing. The movie’s official synopsis reads, “Under investigation as a suspect in her husband’s murder, a wife reveals details of their thorny marriage that seem to only further blur the truth.”

When will Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba be released?

After a long wait, Netflix India has finally announced Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba’s release date. Taapsee Pannu and Vikrant Massey are set to reprise their roles in the upcoming movie. Moreover, Sunny Kaushal and Jimmy Shergil are the new additions to its star cast. The movie will arrive on the streaming platform on August 9. The announcement’s caption read, “9 August ki Hasseen shaam, Dillruba ke naam. Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba, is out on 9 August, only on Netflix.”

As Haseen Dillruba’s ending left the viewers impressed, fans are eagerly waiting for the sequel. An Instagram user wrote, “On August 9th we will be seated.” Another penned, “Finally….Rishu & Rani are are here to rock.”

Jayprad Desai is directing the movie, written by Kanika Dhillon. The sequel is set against the backdrop of Agra, where Rani and Rishu start their new lives. Its official synopsis reads, “Picking up where the first film Haseen Dillruba left off, the story follows Rani Kashyap and Rishabh Saxena as they seek a fresh start in the vibrant city of Agra. With authorities on their trail and drops of blood marking their path, their quest takes a dramatic turn with the arrival of Sunny Kaushal’s character, Abhimanyu, introducing a fresh layer of intrigue to the drama. The lovers find new enemies with Jimmy Shergill and many more who want to foil their plans of ‘happily ever after.'”
