The New York Giants got some salary-cap relief earlier this offseason, but the budget is still pretty tight going into training camp.

According to Over The Cap , the Giants have just under $11.5 million in salary-cap space for the 2024 season, most of which came after Darren Waller's retirement.

That ranks as the 10th-lowest mark in the NFL as of this writing.

With some question marks in the secondary, the Giants have been linked to a few potential signings in free agency.

However, the odds of them making a move for a player like Stephon Gilmore or Justin Simmons get slimmer by the day.

Other teams with more space will eventually get more desperate and may be willing to pay more than what the Giants can given their restraints.

There are some ways to add more cap space, of course. They could restructure the deals of Andrew Thomas and Dexter Lawrence to give themselves a bit more breathing room.

But that really only seems like if they feel inclined to make a big move to sign one of the prominent names on the market.

It's more likely the Giants will stick with what they have while holding onto the limited salary-cap space during the season.
