Best things to do this week in LA and SoCal: July 15 - 18

Hopefully you’re finding some creative ways to beat the heat this week – whether it’s taking an ocean dip or finding the longest movie out in the theaters. (I did that for you, the new Yorgos Lathinos film, Kinds of Kindness , clocks in at a cool 2 hours and 44 minutes; the new space rom-com Fly Me to the Moon gets better reviews but half an hour less a/c at 2 hours and 12 minutes.)

But enough about that, there are plenty of indoor and cool evening outdoor activities all over town this week, from The Decemberists playing at The Bellwether to the SheLA theater festival in West Hollywood to a paella party in Malibu.
