Liverpool are expected to ramp up their transfer business following the conclusion of Copa America and Euro 2024.

The Reds are yet to make a signing, but sporting director Richard Hughes has already promised a raft of deals in August — with late business a result of the international tournaments.

One player who has emerged as a target for Liverpool is RB Leipzig and Spain star Dani Olmo, whose stock has only grown as a result of his outstanding performance at Euro 2024.

The RB Leipzig midfielder impressed for the European Champions this summer and after getting a starting place in the side following Pedri's injury, he performed brilliantly and helped La Roja win the Euros.

He contributed two assists and three goals to Spain's winning campaign, finishing the tournament as the joint Golden Boot winner.

Other clubs, including Manchester United, are also said to be interested but the midfielder is somebody the Anfield club have been keeping tabs on for a while.

They appear to be frontrunners as things stand, with reports suggesting they are "ready" to ruin Man Utd’s move for Olmo by activating his release clause first .

Reds lining up £50m Dani Olmo swoop

Olmo endured a rather frustrating season at the club level, with injuries restricting him to just 25 appearances across all competitions. However, whenever the playmaker took to the pitch, he certainly made an impact for RB Leipzig.

The versatile attacking midfielder, who can also operate as a winger on either flank, tallied eight goals and five assists in those 25 games. That impressive run included a hat-trick as Leipzig stunned Bayern Munich in the German Super Cup final in August.

Olmo's contract with Leipzig, which lasts until June 2027, features a £50 million exit clause—an absolute bargain for a player at the top of his game, capable of influencing any major match.

Barcelona has been rumored to be aiming for a headline-grabbing double deal for Olmo and his Spain teammate Nico Williams. However, with Barca needing to shuffle their finances first, Man Utd seems to be Liverpool's biggest competition for securing Olmo's signature at this stage.
