SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – The Massachusetts State Police say out of an abundance of caution that they will be increasing their presence in busy areas across the Commonwealth.

Local reactions to Trump assassination attempt in Pennsylvania

They say that there is no known connection or direct threat to our area after the events that occurred in Butler, Pennsylvania during a political rally for former President Trump. The state police are working with federal authorities to make sure residents are safe.

In a social media post, they also remind residents as always to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the police.
