Amy is on the dating app, Hinge, and is starting to date again!

She is using the Hinge app because she’s heard it’s the most normal dating app with a better quality of people. Her goal on the app is to meet someone to date. She admitted it feels weird because the last time she dated was when she was in her 20s. The weirdest part for her is the first interaction and seeing what they have on their profiles, especially if they have voice recordings on there. She hasn’t reached out to anyone first on the app because she fears she will get rejected, so she only talks to people who make the first move.

She recently went on a date with a man she met on the app and shared that it went well! They met up for an hour to get drinks and she was relieved because he looked exactly like the pictures on his profile. If she had to compare him to a celebrity it would be Matt Damon. The man was 7 or 8 years older than her and it’s the first time she’s dated a man in his 50s, but she shared that he seemed younger. The date happened on a Saturday, so he was dressed laid back and she revealed he works in business. The reason she chose to go on a date with him is because he came across as normal and nice and nothing about his profile gave her the ick. They went on a second date, and she shared that he’s nice but she’s not sure if she’s ready to fully date again. Dating in your 40s after you’ve been divorced is hard, so she’s just being chill about it and going with the flow! She would go on another date if he asked her out again.
