    Hello and welcome to the Brunswick Today newsletter brought to you by me, StarNews reporter Jamey Cross.

    Cities and towns and villages, oh my! We often use these words interchangeably to refer to municipalities, without thinking of the differences in these terms.

    I'll be honest, I'm guilty of it, too. In North Carolina, such municipalities are located within the state's 100 counties. I lived in Virginia for a couple years, and there, cities are separate from counties, but towns are located within counties.

    Here we grow again

    Brunswick County and the cities and towns within it continue to see population growth. Despite the inherent increase in revenue from property taxes that comes with this growth, some municipalities within the county will raise property taxes this fiscal year. Here's a look at some of the highlights from adopted budgets across the county .

    Speaking of rising costs, a recent Forbes analysis found one of the richest areas in the state is located in Brunswick County. See which Brunswick municipalities made the list, and which one is near the top .
