RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Governor Glenn Youngkin has ordered all Virginia flags to be lowered to half-staff through sunset on Tuesday.

According to a post on X by the Virginia Division of Capitol Police, flags are to be lowered across the Commonwealth from noon on Monday, July 15 until sunset on Tuesday, July 16.

The order reportedly shows support for 50-year-old Corey Comperatore, a spectator who was shot and killed while protecting his family during the outdoor rally for former President Donald Trump in Pennsylvania during the evening on Saturday, July 13.

Another person killed during the rally was 20-year-old Thomas Crooks, who FBI identified as the suspected gunman who appeared to have shot Trump in the ear.

Two more people were seriously injured in the shooting.
