    TikTok star 'Bella Brave' Thomson dies aged 10 as parents pay emotional tribute

    Bella Thomson has sadly died at the age of 10.

    The TikTok star who is known as Bella Brave died on Sunday, July 14. Her mother Kyla Thomson confirmed in an heartbreaking update on TikTok, posted on July 15.

    “Our brave girl left her legacy here on earth to dance on streets of gold July 14th 2024 at 4:19 p.m. ET,” she wrote in the caption of a video of Bella dancing to Never Enough from The Greatest Showman in a flowy embellished dress.

    "Bella passed peacefully in our arms," Kyla continued. "Please keep her name on your lips, her memories alive and her bravery in your hearts. Please share with us every detail of how she touched your life or kept you brave."

    "Bella would want you to remember; God is love, be brave and you are never too old to bring a stuffy. #bellabrave," she concluded.

    She also shared an official statement to PEOPLE asking fans to share how her daughter has "touched their lives" in her journey and to remember the 10-year-old.

    "Everything is hard without her," Kyla said in her statement. "Please help me let the world know I need them to share with us how Bella touched their lives, helped them or how she lives on in their hearts & lives.

    "Don’t ever stop sharing her love and light. Don't let her memory ever fade. Continue to be brave, be closer to God and love each other fiercely, for her. Though she be but little, she is fierce," she added.

    The young star went viral online as her parents, Kyla and Lyle, documented her health struggles which included rare bowel illness Hirschsprung’s disease and severe combined immunodeficiency (SCID), and a form of dwarfism. More than seven million people followed Bella and her lively, sweet personality as she went through some of her life-threatening illnesses.

    The news of her death comes after Bella was placed in a medically induced come as a result of complications from a viral infection last week which her mother confirmed to PEOPLE on July 11.

    Her mother said to PEOPLE, how they were "gutted" for Bella as they thought the "last medical trauma" she would endure is the bowel transplant she received last August. She added how Bella "sailed through her recovery faster than any child" who has gotten a bowel transplant.

    Kyla posted a clip to TikTok on July 11 where she provided an update that Bella remained "stable with no improvement" at the SickKids Hospital in Toronto. On July 14, she gave another update on Instagram that the Bella "is still with us and she is still fighting" but wasn't sure "which ways things are gonna go."

    Bella is survived by her parents and her younger brother Waylon.
