Wiz Khalifa Apologizes For Disrespecting Romania Following Weed Possession Arrest

Wiz Khalifa is one of the biggest marijuana enthusiasts the world has ever seen, but it got him into some trouble in Romania this weekend. The 36-year-old rapper apologized for disrespecting the European country following his arrest.

“Last nights show was amazing. I didn’t mean any disrespect to the country of Romania by lighting up on stage,” he wrote on X ( formerly Twitter ) on Sunday (July 14). “They were very respectful and let me go. I’ll be back soon. But without a big a** joint next time.”

Wiz performed at the Beach Please! Festival this past Saturday (July 13) and was escorted off stage after he lit a joint during his performance. It was later discovered that the Pittsburgh rapper had over 18 grams of marijuana in his possession and was charged with “illegal possession of high-risk drugs,” per a press release from The Local Directorate for Investigating Organized Crime and Terrorism (DIICOT). This situation played out very well for Wiz, especially considering the fact Brittney Griner was held in Russia for almost a year after being caught with marijuana at an airport.

Wiz Khalifa recently announced that he was expecting his first daughter with his girlfriend Aimee Aguilar. This past Father’s Day, he partnered with Clear Blue to make the announcement. The photo shows him embracing Aguilar while she holds a Clear Blue branded pregnancy test. “Baby Girl On The Way,” he wrote in the caption.

Wiz’s daughter will join his son Sebastian Taylor whom he conceived with his ex-wife Amber Rose . Taylor was born in 2013, the same year Khalifa and Rose got married. Their union was short-lived and as of 2015, they agreed to joint custody over their child.

Though Wiz may not be a white-hot act like he was in the early 2010s, he has still been consistent with music releases. This past January, he shared his single “Dress Like This” featuring Backwood Brat and Hardo. He released his most recent album Decisions in December 2023.
