    BMW, Chrysler recall more than 726,000 vehicles for airbag issues: Check car recalls here

    BMW of North America and Chrysler are recalling more than 726,000 vehicles because of airbag issues, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

    Here's a look at the major recall notices :

    BMW recalls cars over exploding airbags

    BMW is recalling 394,029 vehicles because the original steering wheel may have been replaced with a sport or M-sport steering wheel equipped with an inflator that can explode during deployment. An inflator explosion may result in sharp metal fragments striking the driver or other occupants, resulting in serious injury or death.

    The vehicles in the recall are:

    • 2006-2011 3 Series Sedan (324i, 325i, 325xi, 328i, 328xi, 330i, 330xi, 335i, 335xi)
    • 2006-2012 3 Series Sportswagon (325xi, 328i, 328xi)
    • 2009-2011 3 Series Sedan (335d)

    Dealers will inspect and replace the driver's airbag module as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed on Aug. 23. Owners may contact BMW customer service at 1-800-525-7417.

    Chrysler recalls vehicles for airbag failure

    Chrysler is recalling 332,000 vehicles because a seat belt buckle switch sensor may be improperly connected, preventing the front seat airbag from deploying as intended.

    The vehicles in the recall are:

    • 2017-2024 Alfa Romeo Giulia
    • 2018-2025 Alfa Romeo Stelvio
    • 2019-2023 Fiat 500X
    • 2019-2023 Jeep Renegade
    • 2024 Fiat 500E

    Dealers will repair the connection, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed on Aug. 22. Owners may contact FCA US, LLC customer service at 1-800-853-1403. FCA US, LLC's number for this recall is 82B.

    Chrysler is also recalling 9,037 vehicles because the tire pressure and size information on the tire placard and manufacturer labels are incorrect.

    The vehicles in this recall are:

    • 2017-2024 Alfa Romeo Giulia
    • 2021-2024 Alfa Romeo Stelvio

    Dealers will apply corrected tire placards and manufacturer overlay labels, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed on Aug. 22. Owners may contact FCA US, LLC customer service at 1-800-853-1403. FCA US, LLC's number for this recall is 81B.

    Honda recalling vehicles over tire issues

    Honda is recalling 1,725 vehicles because the tire identification number is missing the four-digit date code. An owner whose tire identification number information is missing may not recognize that their vehicle is involved in a safety recall and continue to drive on recalled tires, increasing the risk of a crash.

    The vehicle impacted by the recall is the 2024 CR-V. Dealers will inspect and replace the tires as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed on Aug. 12. Owners may contact Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's number for this recall is BIS.
